Hey Benjamin,
Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to start my own business.
I remember sitting in the back of my dad's truck when I was a teenager thinking… man, wouldn't it be so cool if I had a staff of
20 people and was my own boss.
At the time, I wasn't even thinking in terms of how much money I wanted to make.
It was more about stepping into the identity of being a founder.
And neither of my parents were entrepreneurs.
For the most part I grew up middle class.
So honestly I'm not sure where I got that inspiration to even want to build something of my own…
But I knew for sure I had that fire deep inside of me.
And that desire burned so hot that by the time I was around 24, I just couldn't see myself working for another person.
Again, it wasn't about the money at the time.
They paid me well.
It's just who I am.

Hey Benjamin,
A lot of my clients ask me for my advice on how to build AI automations.
What I always tell them is to not worry about that.
It doesn't matter if you spend the next 6 months building something if nobody is going to buy it.
Especially with AI, because everything will be custom based on the client's problems.
So the advice I typically give is to just sell first. SELL. SELL. SELL.
Nothing else matters besides getting the client to give you money.
ONLY when you get the money can you start thinking about building.
And with the money they give you, building will take care of itself, because there are countless good builders out there starving…
Because they're too afraid to put themselves out there and sell.
Whoever owns the relationship with the client has all the leverage.

Hey Benjamin,
Back when I was working a job, my main focus was to cover my living expenses so I wouldn't get into credit card debt.
Not going to lie, living in San Francisco was expensive, and I actually got into $6,000 of credit card debt because my salary
couldn't cover my living expenses for the first few months.
I remember during that time it felt so stressful, and I felt like I had to dedicate every ounce of my energy to get out of that
hole.
Fortunately, it only took me a couple months to pay off all my debt with sales commissions, but…
Something I learned from that experience is when I was living check to check, my dreams took a back seat.
I was no longer an innocent child who dreamed…
But instead became a boring adult that just worried about bills.
And I feel this is a common trap a lot of people fall for, especially those living in the U.S.
So when I started making my own money with my online business, I moved to Vietnam when I was making about $4K/mo.
It was less than what I was making at my previous full-time job, but I was FREE.
I could finally spend my time doing what I wanted to do.
You have no idea how much joy I had just waking up, going to a cafe at 10AM to sip on a cappuccino as I journaled and planned my
day.
It's the little things that bring the most joy.
Anyways, I wanted to share that perspective because chances are you're looking for your own form of freedom as well.
And I can tell you, once you make a couple thousand dollars on your own… That's when the real game of life begins.
